Judge Benjamin D Weedin ^{(152) (153)(154) (155)(156)} was born in 1831 in Glasgow, Kentucky.⁽¹⁵⁷⁾ He graduated in 1853 in Civil Engineering, Center College, Danville, Kentucky.. ⁽¹⁵⁸⁾ He was an a county surveyor between 1853 and 1855 in Kentucky. ⁽¹⁵⁹⁾ He moved from Kentucky in 1855 in Lexington, Missouri.⁽¹⁶⁰⁾ He served in the military in 1861 in Lexington, Missouri. ⁽¹⁶¹⁾ Benjamin D. joined the Missouri State Guard which became part of the Confederate Army under Sterling Price. "He was a lieutenant in Ruffner's Battery and participated in the battles of Lone Jack, Pine Bluff, Jenkins Ferry, Prarie Grove (where his first cousin and my great, great, great uncle, Hiram Daniel Weedin, was killed), and Little Rock. He probably fought in the battle of Helena against another first cousin, my great, great grandfather, John Benjamin Weedin." says Sharon.
